SAS Safety

Buying Guide: Essential Shop Safety

Raven® Nitrile Gloves
The legendary SAS Raven glove is a staple in professional auto shops. Featuring a robust 6-mil thickness, these black powder-free nitrile gloves provide outstanding puncture resistance and an aggressive textured grip. They are highly resistant to brake cleaner, oil, and harsh automotive solvents, keeping your hands clean and safe.

Paint Respirators & Masks
Automotive 2K clear coats contain deadly isocyanates. A simple dust mask will not protect you. SAS Safety manufactures professional half-mask and full-face respirators equipped with organic vapor cartridges and N95/P100 particulate pre-filters. These filter out the microscopic, highly toxic solvent vapors before they reach your lungs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I change my SAS respirator cartridges?
Respirator cartridges do not last forever; the activated carbon inside absorbs vapors until it is full. You should replace your organic vapor cartridges immediately if you can smell or taste the paint fumes while wearing the mask, or after 40 hours of continuous use (whichever comes first). Always store your mask in a sealed plastic bag when not in use.

Are SAS safety glasses ANSI approved?
Yes, the vast majority of SAS Safety eyewear is designed to meet or exceed strict ANSI Z87.1+ standards for high-impact protection. This ensures the polycarbonate lenses will not shatter when struck by high-speed grinding sparks or metal fragments.
